Case Study: DollarShaveClub.com

Here’s a great example of a company that successfully uses humor in a YouTube marketing campaign. Dollar Shave Club has a simple business plan: they send you a new razor each month for a dollar, or you can pay a little more for a better quality razor. The video below first appeared on March 6, 2012 and a few months later on May 30, 2012 they had more than 4 million views! As of September 2017 it has over 24 million views! Wow! When you watch the video you’ll see why. It’s the kind of video you want to share with friends (in fact, it was a friend of mine who sent it to me). This is another great example of how a product or service that might otherwise be considered dull or boring can be brought to life with a great video.
